The Dark Side of the Moon Releases New Song “The Gates Of Time”
Back in 2021, Swiss symphonic metal band Ad Infinitum's vocalist Melissa Bonny, German metal rock band Feuerschwanz's harpist Jenny Diehl, guitarist Hans Platz and Swedish metal band Amaranthe's drummer Morten Løwe Sørensen formed The Dark Side of the Moon.
Last December, the band announced their upcoming debut album “Metamorphosis” would be released on May 12, 2023 via Napalm Records.
The band said, “We are excited to finally announce our debut album, 'Metamorphosis'! At the time we just had one song ('Jenny of Oldstones') and were asked to make a full album, we had to start from scratch a journey which led us from the depth of Moria all the way up to the top of the Misty Mountains. We are beyond proud to also present you three original songs on the album! It goes without saying that we cannot wait to hear your response to what we have been preparing for more than a year. Welcome to the dark side!”
From the album, the band unveiled a new song “The Gates Of Time” along with a music video on March 14, 2023.
The song is the fourth single off of the album, following “Jenny of Oldstones”, “May it Be”, and “Double Trouble / Lumos! (Hedwig's Theme)”.- The track was written by Hans Platz, Melissa Bonny and Morten Løwe Sørensen. Produced by The Dark Side Of The Moon, and Simon Michael.
The accompanying video was directed by G13 Production House.
The band said of the song, “It's not just a new song, it's a premiere for us - we are extremely excited to present you the first original song we've ever written.”
They continued, “We are beyond proud to present to you the very first song we've ever written together as a band! We started this journey with covers of famous songs from movies, series, and video games but soon we realized that writing our own stories and melodies was a must.
