Mae Stephens Releases New Song “If We Ever Broke Up”
Back in 2022, British singer-songwriter Mae Stephens shared a new song “If We Ever Broke Up” on TikTok.
The song went to viral and amassed more than 10 million views.
Finally, she signed to EMI Records and officially released the song on February 10, 2023.
The track is the follow-up to the 2021 “White Lies”.
It was written by Mae Stephens, Morien van der Tang, and Gia Koka. Produced by Morgan Avenue.
Mae Stephens said of the song, “It was written from the perspective of if I was still with my ex-boyfriend and, if I had the attitude and the experience that I do now when I was 16, I would have done all these things and told his dad what he did.”
She continued, “I think deep down everyone wants to tell their crappy ex's dad what they did. I've read a lot of comments from people saying that this song helped them through their break-up because it gave them that boss energy!”- source : Apple Music
