British singer-songwriter Michael Nelson, aka BANNERS released a new EP “I Wish I Was Flawless, I'm Not” along with a new music video for “In Your Universe” on January 13, 2023.
The EP is his first project in two years since the 2021 EP “It's Gonna Be OK”.
The EP comprises 6-track, produced by Cam Blackwood and Lorna Blackwood.
Michael Nelson said of the EP, “I experienced the pandemic mainly on my own and I spent quite a lot of that tearing myself apart in front of the mirror. I think, during that time, everybody's trauma surfaced in unexpected ways, and this was the way my brain decided to do it. This EP is a mini celebration of me coming out the other side and being at peace with my imperfections. And being much happier because of that.”- He explained some track for the EP.
“Perfectly Broken”
“I wanted to write a song about how our imperfections are what make us interesting. How other people's imperfections are what make them interesting and when our jagged edges fit into their jagged edges, that's when we fall in love.”
“Keeps Me Going”

“In Your Universe”
"In Your Universe. I think this song sounds like falling in love. The explosion of it. Feeling like the universe has created this beautiful thing for you and all you'll ever need is to be somewhere in that atmosphere."
