British-Irish boy group The Wanted released a cover of East 17's “Stay Another Day” on November 5, 2021.
The original version of the song was released by British boy band East 17 in 1994 from their second album “Steam”.
The song became the Christmas number one hit of 1994.
East 17's member Tony Mortimer wrote the song about his brother who had taken his own life.
Tony Mortimer said of the song, “It was based on my brother's suicide and losing someone. What would you do if you had one more day with a loved one?... It was all based on conversations I'd had with my brother and I was trying to change it into a love song about the end of a relationship.”
The Wanted will release a greatest hits album titled “Most Wanted: The Greatest Hits” on November 12th.
The album comprises 15-track (the deluxe version 20-track), including all 12 of the band's Top 40 hits on the Official Singles Chart adding fan favourite “Could This Be Love” and two new songs.- source : Apple Music
