Katy B Announces New EP “Peace and Offerings”, Shares New Song “Open Wound” featuring Jaz Karis
- British singer-songwriter Katy B announced her upcoming EP “Peace and Offerings” would be released on October 29, 2021.
It is her first project since the 2016 third studio album “Honey”.
From the EP, she unveiled a new song “Open Wound” on October 1, 2021.
This time, she teamed up with London based singer-songwriter Jaz Karis.
Katy B shared on social media, “In lockdown I got to make a song with the amazing Jaz Karis, her energy, voice and pen game is always just 🔥 🖊 And to celebrate this upcoming release, I'm so happy to announce that Jaz will be supporting me at Village Underground along with my girl Jaz Karis”
Jaz Karis shared, “🌟 Super super happy girl 🌟 It was an absolute pleasure to work with one of my favourites Katy B on this single 💛 🧡 💛 ”
- Katy B said of the EP, “I feel I consciously leaned into my R&B facet extra on this undertaking. With the golf equipment being closed, it displays what I'd be listening to and vibing to at residence. My high 10 songs are traditional R&B songs, I'm a nostalgia head and I wished to convey that throwback really feel to the music.”
She continued, “This isn't a undertaking essentially made for the golf equipment, I'd say it's a soundtrack to a pre-drinks soirée together with your ladies. Which will shock some folks. These songs are a style of what's to come back, I'm dropping Easter eggs throughout this undertaking. I need folks to seek out an escape in these songs, I need them to really feel hope but in addition the facility inside themselves.”
She explained of the EP title, “The 'Peace' is me taking myself away and having peace of mind and the 'Offerings' are the songs, the parts of myself I'm giving away. In a way I'm reintroducing myself again: I am the offering.”
