  • American R&B and soul singer-songwriter Janelle Monáe unveiled two new songs “Make Me Feel” and “Django Jane” from her upcoming fourth album "Dirty Computer", which is set to be released o April 27, 2018. The new album is her first LP in 5 years since "The Electric Lady".

    Both songs arrived with music videos, Alan Ferguson directed “Make Me Feel” and Andrew Donoho directed "Django Jane" with co-direcor Chuck Lightning.
    “Make Me Feel” received its first play during Apple Beats1 with Zane Lowe. It was written by Janelle Monáe, Julia Michaels, Mattias Larsson, Robin Fredriksson and Justin Tranter.

    About Prince-inspired the song, she told Zane Lowe;
    "I actually had this title on this concept before my first album The ArchAndroid, and it scared me because a lot of the things that I knew that I needed to say were very deep, very personal, from the heart. You know, this is an extremely vulnerable album and it took me a while to make it because I’m a self editor."

  • “Django Jane” is all-rapped track, she told The Guardian in an interview;
    "[It’s] a response to me feeling the sting of the threats being made to my rights as a woman, as a black woman, as a sexually liberated woman, even just as a daughter with parents who have been oppressed for many decades. Black women and those who have been the ‘other’, and the marginalised in society – that’s who I wanted to support, and that was more important than my discomfort about speaking out."
