  • Lil Wayne Performs “Dedicate” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

  • American rapper Lil Wayne appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he performed “Dedicate” from his twelfth studio album "Tha Carter V".


    It was written by Mike Dean, 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne. The song sampled former president Barack Obama speach, “They might think they’ve got a pretty good jump shot or a pretty good flow. But our kids can’t all aspire to be Lebron or Lil Wayne.”
    He said at ending of performance, “So therefore, with that said: Kids, stay in school.”
    The album is his first LP in three years since "Free Weezy Album". Originally, he was supposed to release the album in 2014. But it was dleayed due to contractual disputes between Lil Wayne and Cash Money Records. The album was released via Young Money Entertainment, Republic Records and Universal Music Group.
    On the album, he worked with XXXTentacion, Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Ashanti, Mack Maine and Nivea, as well as uncredited vocals from 2 Chainz.
    In an interview with host Jimmy Fallon, she said of the writing process. He described the challenge of remembering his lyrics for the stage since he never writes anything down in the studio.
    “You guys are so, so kind and so generous,” he said. “They typed up my lyrics for me, and I’m back there studying them right now.”
