Sky Ferreira Returns With New Song “Downhill Lullaby”
American singer-songwriter Sky Ferreira is back. She unveiled a new song “Downhill Lullaby” for her first single in six years.
“The first song isn’t a pop song… because I really want to make a video for it (& I love it),” Sky Ferreira tweeted.
It was written by Tamaryn, Jorge Elbrecht and Sky Ferreira.
She has worked on her second album "Masochism" since 2014, the new song will appear on it.
She told Pitchfork about the inspiration for the song and mentioned that it spawned from her fear of lakes in an interview.
“In a lake, by yourself, you look at the bottom and it’s murky and still and you can’t really see anything or feel anything—and if you do, it’s fucking terrifying. It always feels like something will grab you and pull you under.”- Also, in a series of tweets, she denied claims that “Downhill Lullaby” interpolates the Verve’s “Bitter Sweet Symphony”.
"It doesn’t have anything to do with the Verve’s “Bitter Sweet Symphony.” It’s completely unrelated. I was JOKING! What a mess. Please take it out if written & out of your brains. I spent so much time recording/writing/arranging it & having people play it. It’s completely original." - source : Idolator
