  • Charlotte Lawrence Releases New Song “Navy Blue”

  • Earlier this year, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Charlotte Lawrence signed to Atlantic/Gold Tooth Records. Then she released her first major single “Why Do You Love Me” back in July.

Next up, she released a new song “Navy Blue” on September 26th. The track was co-written by Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic and Charlie Puth in the same way as “Why Do You Love Me”.
The song is with an accompanying music video and will appear on her upcoming debut album, which is expected to be released next year.
Also, she plans to release another single “God Must Be Doing Cocaine” and sophomore EP this year, as well as she will embark on Navy Blue Tour in the US in November.
The tour kicks off at Center Stage of Vinyl in Atlanta on November 7th. Learn more about tour dates click here.
  • She told 1883 Magazine about the song in an interview. “The track, to me, is completely about a toxic relationship. I wanted to write about the toxic relationship in the sort of way that compared it to the colour navy blue," she explained. “I think if you were asked to think of the darkest colour ever, you would think it’s pitch black, like midnight black, with no light at all. If I were to say, “Oh my gosh, this relationship is midnight black. It’s so dark, there’s nothing left of it,” that would kind of mean that this relationship is so horrible, it’s so toxic, that there’s no saving it, there’s no going back, you can’t have one more moment in this relationship because it’s horrible for you. But the closest colour to black is navy blue and that kind of means this relationship is so dark and so toxic but there’s still a little bit of hope, a little bit of glimmer left, and the tagline of the song is just one more night in navy blue. The whole meaning behind the song is let’s just have one more night in this darkness and enjoy it, just one more night before we have to walk away from each other and let this be.”
