  • A Short Walk to Pluto Covers Tears for Fears' “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”

  • Toronto-based indie rock band A Short Walk to Pluto, consisting of Emma Armstrong (vocals), Max Kaiser (guitar), Danny Moriana (bass), and Jake Biggs (drums), has regularly released covers of well-known classics.

This time, the band released a cover of British pop rock band Tears for Fears' “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” on February 16, 2024.
The song is accompanied by the Alex Mcfarland-directed live concert video.
The band has reimagined the classic song in their own style. They highlight the musical elements that make their sound special, incorporating powerful female pop vocals, rich guitars, dynamic bass, and driving drums.
The original version of the song was released by Tears for Fears from second studio album “Songs from the Big Chair” in 1985.
It was written by Roland Orzabal, Ian Stanley, and Chris Hughes and produced by Hughes.
The song has been covered extensively since its release, and is best known for its soundtrack to the film “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” by New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde.
