Lauren Duski Premieres New Music Video for “Costume Party”
The Voice's runner-up and singer-songwriter Lauren Duski premiered a new music video for “Costume Party” directed by Matt Edwards.
Back in July, she released the debut song and exclusively its premiered on Billboard. The track was written by Lauren Duski and Justin Morgan.
The clip is featuring that her fans created their own videos inspired from “Costume Party”.
She said, "The letters from my fans really inspired me to say something this vulnerable in a song. People shared stories and vulnerability that I could’ve never imagined. So it only felt right to have them all join me in the video. ‘Costume Party’ is for them."
After the Voice, for her debut song, she wrote over 150 songs last year.
“There was a lot of pressure to put something out right away, both from fans and from industry, but I wasn’t ready, and my team and I chose to practice patience," she told Billboard in an interview. "I’ve written over 150 songs in the last year and knew the day [co-writer] Justin [Morgan] and I wrote it, that 'Costume Party' was the message I wanted to share with the world first. It’s an observation of my own humanity delivered through a country song. I think that’s beautiful. It was the most vulnerable I’ve ever been, to the point that it was uncomfortable to even record these words."
She will perform at Little Rock Theatre in Little Rock on September 7, Ramble Jam in Farmington on September 15, Schubas in Chicago on September 16 and Heart Behind the Music in Birmingham on November 1.
