Roberta Flack Premieres New Song “Running” from Documentary Film “3100: Run and Become” Soundtrack
American singer-songwriter Roberta Flack has released a new song “Running” from a documentary film "3100: Run and Become" soundtrack.
The film follows an unassuming Finnish paperboy in the Self-Transcendence 3100 Miler - the world's longest race. His story takes the viewer around the world to the Kalahari Desert, the mountain temples of Japan and the Navajo Reservation.
The film was directed by Sanjay Rawal and released June 1, 2018.
The song is based on the theme music of the film. It was written by Michael A. Levine.
Roberta Flack said, "The music remains my lifeline. And the lyrics for ‘Running’ speak to where I am now, working to keep going through music.”
She recorded the song in two days. “I thought it would be great,” Michael A. Levine said. “But I thought how could we possibly? I didn’t know that Sanjay and Roberta were still in touch via her manager Suzanne Koga. Astonishingly, Roberta agreed to do it.”
