Tate McRae Releases New Song “she's all i wanna be”
Canadian singer-songwriter Tate McRae released a new song “she's all i wanna be” on February 4, 2022.
The song is the second single off of her upcoming debut album, following “feel like shit”.
It was written by Tate McRae, and Greg Kurstin, who also produced the track.
Tate McRae told Genius about the song, “Genuinely, I just had like a bad low where I got into the studio, I was with this guy named Greg Kurstin, who's like an absolute God. And he literally just started playing these really sad piano chords. And I was so in my head because I has literally been scrolling on TikTok and Instagram all day long. And I was like, hating everything about myself. I was comparing myself to every single girl and it literally just like left me the most bitter taste in my mouth. I hate the feeling of jealousy. Like, I don't get it very often, but when I do it's like the grossest feeling ever. And I just wanted to write this song to kind of get it off my chest. And funny enough, it actually started as a ballad. Eventually, like we got the song back no one really liked it. And then i was like, 'Hey ca you try this like a little edgier or little punkier?' An he like came back and like completely redid this song and made it into like this, crazy big pink song. And it was really cool to like watch it transition from like being like a really sappy and sad ballad to like, being this really upbeat song.”- uS_y_65CcpA

She has already filmed a music video for the song, which will be premiered on February 11th. Directed by Tusk and Michelle Dawley.
“I hope u guys enjoy this music vid that we put together,” Tate McRae wrote. “I was super inspired by the incredible dance film Chorus Line. So happy this is finally out!!!!!!!!”
The debut album comprises 11-track. She told Hunger Magazine about the album last year, “I've released a few songs recently, and the thing is they aren't entirely my songs, so I feel like a part of me wants to take a break, and when my album starts, it's gonna be the best material I've ever written.
