Ryan Caraveo Releases New Song “Ricochet”
Los Angeles-based rapper Ryan Caraveo released his first single of 2021 entitled “Ricochet” on March 6, 2021 via Paradise Forever and Virgin Music Label & Artist Services.
The song was written by Ryan Caraveo and produced by Teal Douville. The accompanying music video was directed by Stefan Vleming.
The music combines elements of multiple genres including hip hop, alternative, and emo sounds that elevate the song.
The music video focuses on Ryan, singing to a gigantic moon by the side of the road “Just hoping that these words ricochet down to you.” As the video progresses the moon gets closer and closer, ending in a beautiful shot of Ryan in front of the moon.
He makes rap that's so soft and vulnerable, it's harder than anything else out there. “That's how great things happen: when you're not checking any boxes,” he says. “I want young people who listen to know that being soft doesn't make you weak,” he says, thinking back on the younger, lost version of himself that couldn't safely express emotions. “You can't take care of people if you're never soft with them.”- source : Spotify
