Lorde Performs “Solar Power” & “Stoned at the Nail Salon” at Rooftop of Electric Lady Studios
New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde performed “Solar Power” and “Stoned at the Nail Salon” at the Roof of Electric Lady Studios in New York with American singer-songwriter Jack Antonoff.
The video was directed by Ashlan Grey.
Two songs will appear on her upcoming third studio album “Solar Power”, which is set to be released on August 20, 2021.
The new album is her first LP in four years.
Lorde said of “Solar Power” in an interview with Triple J, “This one just felt like the perfect first chapter for this album. It's about that infectious, flirtatious energy that starts to come into the fold come like, December for us, June for the other half of the world, and for this record that's about the magic of the sun and of nature I just thought it was really cool, light, cute, fun, zany place to start.”
She told Apple Music about “Stoned at the Nail Salon”, “This one is pretty much all Jack just playing everything – playing bass, playing beautiful guitar – and then I arranged all the vocals, had Phoebe, Claire, and all the boys come and sing. But yeah, it's definitely one of the quietest, most introspective, and internal moments on the record.”- gmMJXZyR0jw
