Foxes Premieres New Song “Sister Ray” on BBC Radio 1
- British singer-songwriter Louisa Rose Allen, aka Foxes premiered a new song “Sister Ray” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song is her first single since her second EP “Friends In The Corner”, which was released back in April.
She wrote and recorded the song during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.
It was written by Courage, Laura Dockrill and Louisa Allen. Produced by Courage and Charlie Hugall.
The accompanying music video was directed by Florence Kosky.
Foxes said of the song, “Hi Fox is here, and this is my brand new single Sister Ray, it was written at the height of lockdown. When I was craving a really, really wild night out with my friend. I remember writing it on Zoom, and bouncing off the ceiling, trying to imagine a line like that ever being possible again and just wanting to write some of the could just take me like. Sending lots of love to you all, and I hope you enjoy it.”
- She said in a press release,“‘Sister Ray’ came from a wild part of me during lockdown that was craving a night of freedom and fun again, a longing to let go. The velvet underground reference is a nod to describing the most debauched night you could ever imagine but in its spirit it’s a celebration of the people you can have those indescribable times with. I wanted to encapsulate that energy in a song so I could imagine that feeling forever.”
