DARKMINDS Releases New Album “Monument”: Streaming
- Back in June, Los Angeles-based music duo DARKMINDS, consisting of Daniel Ellsworth and Christopher Umana, released their debut album “Good News”.
The duo became better known for the album's third track “Better Days”, which was used by Apple at WWDC21 in June.
After just three months, the duo released their sophomore album “Monument” on September 10, 2021.
The album comprises of 9-track, including preceding singles “Til' the World Is Gone” and “Monument”.
The duo said, “Monument is the second of two debut albums we've released this year. At the start of 2021 we both knew we wanted to start putting DARKMINDS music out into the world. We sat down and realized we had well over an album's worth of songs - we had at least two albums. From the beginning, our mantra with DARKMINDS has always been to not overthink and just follow the music where it wants to go. So, we decided to go for it - two debut albums instead of one. The songs just seemed to make sense that way. Where Good News was a more feel-good, summertime vibe, Monument is a bit darker and more brooding. Still big hooks and overwhelmingly optimistic lyrically, but showcasing a different side of what DARKMINDS can be. We're always pushing ourselves to try new things so we never get pigeon-holed, while at the same time making sure that you know it's us when you hear it. Monument is the next part of that story.”
Also, Daniel Ellsworth released his solo EP “No Clue” ahead of the released of “Monument” back in July.
