Ezra Jordan Releases New Song “heaven help me”
- Canadian singer-songwriter Ezra Jordan unveiled a new song “heaven help me” from his upcoming sophomore EP “117”.
The song is the third single off of the EP, following “dollarama” and “bitter”.
It was written by Ezra Jordan and produced by Liam Russell.
“'heaven help me' was the first song I wrote for my upcoming EP, 117,” Ezra Jordan said of the song. It was written a few short weeks after breaking up with my then girlfriend. The break up was preemptive because we were going to be spending many months apart, followed by a short time back home until I moved away to Los Angeles. It just didn’t make sense to do long-distance. The breakup felt especially weird because it had nothing to do with how we felt about each other. It felt like we had been ripped apart too soon by reasons that were out of our control, and I was really struck by the ‘unfairness’ of it all.”
- He continued, “As you listen, I want you to take away the knowledge that it’s okay to ask for help. I’ve learned that you usually get what you ask for, and that includes not asking for anything at all. I always knew that these kinds of conversational and honest classic songwriter ballads were what I wanted to make, but it took this breakup and my travels to assist me in maturing enough to let myself be this emotionally vulnerable.”
