Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Marie Dahlstrøm, Linda Diaz, Elijah Fox & Aligo Release New Song “Good Thing”
Danish singer-songwriter Marie Dahlstrøm, NPR's 2020 Tiny Desk Content winner Linda Diaz, London-based rapper Aligo and Brooklyn-based singer Elijah Fox teamed up for a new song “Good Thing”.
The track was released on October 13th via JFH Records.
Elijah Fox and Aligo have also worked together for Marie Dahlstrøm's debut album “Like Sand” released back in May.
Marie Dahlstrøm said “This is my first international collab and I couldn't have asked for a better team to work with. For me, 'Good Thing' embodies a playfully delivered ultimatum. At its core, it's a song about reciprocation, communication and honoring your relationships. It was cool to see all of our interpretations of this concept come out in the song. There was such an open and supportive energy cultivated in this session that goes beyond talent and that mutual respect and encouragement definitely elevated all of our strengths. I hope everyone can feel the love that went into this one!”.
She continued, “I feel this song shows a different side to our collective writing and production, more playful and light-hearted, and it just goes to show, that making music can be done anywhere with the right people.”
Elijah Fox said, “Marie and Linda are two of my favourite vocalists in the world so I was hyped when they initially set up the session. We were on a zoom call back in April and I remember wanting to go for a summer vibe and began by playing the ukulele part on the keybord and then layering in some percussion and building out the structure. This song to me is about enjoying the little things during a difficult time (lockdown/quarantine) and being thankful for good relationships and friends.”- source : SoundCloud
