Gracie Laboy Releases New Song “Boricua”
- Last month, Los Angeles-based Latin Pop singer-songwriter Gracie Laboy released her debut EP “Valencia”.
She continued to be busy and released a new song “Boricua”. The track is reminiscent of Major Lazer.
Gracie Laboy said of the song, “I love connecting with my Puerto Rican heritage, and am proud of being Boricua, so having an original song to show just how much pride I have means the world to me. Puerto Ricans have gone through a lot lately, with the devastation of Hurricane Maria and challenges to the economy, so I hope this song can be an anthem for Boricua pride and reflect the joys of being on the island.”
- Gracie Laboy debuted with “Good Devil” this year. The 4-track EP “Valencia” was released in October.
She explained about EP in an interview with Vents Magazine, “'Valencia' Is an emotive, four-track exploration of struggle, vulnerability, healing, and falling in love. It’s named after the city that inspired me and gave me a fresh new start in life and love. My lyrics and voice embrace the highs and lows of my personal struggles and finding love in Valencia. So the EP is inspired from real life experiences from my year of living in Valencia, Spain, as I was completing my master’s in music.”
