Ruth B. Releases New Song “Bad Combination”

Canadian singer-songwriter Ruth B. released a brand new song “Bad Combination” on May 1, 2026.
The song is her second single in partnership with ALTER Music LLC and Artist Theory, following “Storm” released last November.
She first performed during her secret show in Los Angeles last month. It is her first show in five years. Ruth B. said, “I played my first show back in 5 years and it was absolutely surreal.”
As with the previous song, she worked with producer Cole M.G.N., who played synthesizer, bass, piano, guitar, and drums.
The accompanying music video was directed by Sara Thea.
Ruth B. said of the song, “After taking a little time off, I'm really excited to be back with one of my favorites, it's honest, a little messy, and comes from those late-night thoughts you probably should not say out loud... but do anyway.”- She continued, “So 'Bad Combination' was very much reflective of, like, the time I was kind of in. And that lyric, the 'you look so good and I'm so sad, what a bad bad combination.' I actually remember saying that, like at the club or something to one of my friends being like, something like, 'Oh, I'm so sad but', 'He looks good', like, whatever. And then, I took it to the piano, which I typically do, and kind of came up with, you know, a melody, and just it was one of those songs that, because I was like, living it at the time, and it wasn't like something I was reflecting on. It kind of happened pretty quickly. I think usually, if I'm writing in the moment of something, it feels like, almost like, you know, I'm just writing my feelings out as they come.”
