Mayday Parade Releases New Song “Blame It On The Youth”

American rock band Mayday Parade, consisting of Derek Sanders (vocals), Jake Bundrick (drums), Alex Garcia (guitar), Brooks Betts (guitar) and Jeremy Lenzo (bass), released a new song “Blame It On The Youth” on April 30, 2026.
The song will appear on the final installment of their three-part album trilogy celebrating the band's 20th anniversary.
The trilogy, which includes “Sweet” and “Sad” released in 2025, marks the band's first self-release since their 2006 debut EP “Tales Told By Dead Friends”, which they famously sold in Vans Warped Tour parking lots. That DIY release went on to sell more than 50,000 copies and laid the foundation for a two-decade career, making the trilogy a true full-circle moment for the band.
“Blame It On The Youth” is an anthemic ode to blissful recklessness.
It was written by Mayday Parade. Produced by Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount.
The accompanying music video was directed by Benjamin Lieber.- The band guitarist Brooks Betts said of the song, “This track means a lot to us. It was produced with our longtime collaborators Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount, and it came together in a way that felt natural from start to finish. Jake came in with this amazing song that we were all drawn to. We knew instantly it was important to get the track right but we really just had a solid chorus and loose verse melodies so the band quickly got to work constructing multiple versions of lyrics to finish the track. We worked together in a way that was truly collaborative and with the process feel we created something we are all super proud of. Hope you love it too!”
