Zara Larsson Premieres New Remix “Midnight Sun (Girls Trip)” featuring PinkPantheress on BBC Radio 1
Swedish singer-songwriter Zara Larsson will release her first remix album “Midnight Sun: Girls Trip” this Friday (May 1st).
The album is the remix version of her fifth studio album “Midnight Sun”, which was released last September.
The record comprises 10 tracks, featuring PinkPantheress, Kehlani, JT, Margo XS, Emilia, Eli, Shakira, Tyla, Madison Beer, BAMBII, Malibu, Helena Gao, and Robyn.
From the album, she premiered a new remix “Midnight Sun (Girls Trip)” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
On the track, she teamed up with London-based singer-songwriter PinkPantheress.
This marks their second collaboration following PinkPantheress' remix of “Stateside”, which was released last October.
The track was written by Zara Larsson, PinkPantheress, Helena Gao, Uzoechi Emenike, and Margo Wildman. Produced by PinkPantheress, Helena Gao, Margo XS, MNEK, and Count Baldor.
Zara Larsson told Jack Saunders about the song, “It is that is featuring my girl Pink Panthers, part two. It actually wasn't planned in the studio. But Pink Panthers is such a huge part of UK music and the sound of that. And I think it's like her, her her upbringing, her inspiration. She's an EDM girl. And she just said, step aside when it came to the production of this. Like she knows what she wants when she produces. So I think she definitely felt inspired by a lot of things, including that.”- She said of the remix album, “It's filled with all the girls. This is the biggest thing that I've done in my career so far. I really do think this is my biggest accomplishment. I took all the songs of a midnight sun and I reproduced it, I rewrote it, and I put some of my favorite girls on there. And it's just we just made every song even better, or gave it new life into the midnight sun universe. So I just can't wait for people to enjoy this. And also, it's the first summer where people get to experience midnight sun. I mean, that record was released in September, although it feels like such a summer record. So I'm really, really excited that people get to enjoy all the songs when it was supposed to be enjoyed.”

She continued, “I always wanted to work with more women. I've done amazing collaboration in the past. But I felt like it was time for me to do that with with the girls. Because I am so inspired by the female artists and the producers in this industry. That's kind of what I listen to. That's kind of what I want to have in my in my headphones all the time. When I tour, I have a full female band, my dancers, my production manager, my tour manager, my like, I'm really trying to kind of support women in a true sense, like in real life. Not just saying I love women, like, I really want to uplift and write with and work with women. And it was just time.”
