Nia Archives Announces New Album “Emotional Junglist”, Premieres New Song “Boys In Blue” on BBC Radio 1
London-based DJ Nia Archives has announced her upcoming sophomore album “Emotional Junglist” will be released on July 24, 2026 via HIJINXX/Island Records.
It is her first album in two years, following the 2024 debut album “Silence Is Loud”.
The album comprises 15 tracks, featuring guest appearances from British singer-songwriter Jorja Smith and London-based singer-songwriter Sampha.
From the album, Nia Archives premiered a new song “Boys In Blue” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “Danger” released last month.
It was written by James Ford, Ed Thomas, and Dehaney Hunt. Produced by Nia Archives and James Ford.
The track features James Ford on guitar, bass, slide guitar, drums, and synthesizer and Ed Thomas on guitar.
The accompanying music video was directed by Iris Luz.
Nia Archives told Jack Saunders about the song, “I would say this is definitely the anthem of my next record. It's the last song that I made, and I'm kind of saying a lot in it. It's a crazy song.”- She continued, “I kind of, like, made this in my studio with I was writing it with Ed Thomas. And I was like, I've got this, like, lyric idea, because I had stuff on my chest that I needed to get off my chest, to be honest with you. And then I was like, 'Okay, we've got this.' I showed Tom my manager, and he was like, 'Okay, I like this. This is a vibe.' And then I took it in with James Ford, and we just kind of like produced it. And was like, Okay. This is actually, like, circuit was the last song that we made. And I don't know, sometimes those are the best ones.”
Nia Archives said of the album, “So my second album, it's called 'Emotional Junglist'. I'm really excited about it, because I think sometimes the second album can be so scary. It's like, where do you go after the first one? And I love silences loud and what I've done with that. But this really felt like a time to just explore, like my artistry. And I feel like I am an emotional junglist, like a jungle is obviously a fan of jungle music, but I'm very emotional person. I see that this phrase is like an identity, kind of like the punk movement. You might listen to what music, but you might also just feel like a punk, and that's kind of what I feel about like 'Emotional Junglist'.” -
