  • Lola Blue Releases New Song “I Don't Know How to Leave”

  • American singer-songwriter Lola Blue will release her upcoming debut EP “Pinky Promise” on May 15, 2026.

The EP comprises 6 tracks, produced Day Wave.

Lola Blue said of the EP, “I think I’ll always have a little bit of my 17 year old self in me. This project is a diary of little stories, love and heartbreak throughout my early adulthood. The past 2 years of making this EP has brought me so much healing. These songs were made with lots of love from me to you, I promise.”

On April 24, 2026, she released the third single called “I Don't Know How to Leave” from the EP, following “Daisy” and “Heartbeat”.
The song received its first play during BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Sian Eleri.
It was written by Lola Blue Koepke and Jackson Phillips. Produced by Day Wave.

Lola Blue said of the song, “Woke up this morning thinking about the east coast and how this song reminds me of a long drive to Cape Cod. 'I Don't Know How to Leave' is the first of many songs I made with Day Wave starting 3 years ago. Which feels like many lifetimes ago.”
  • Lola Blue told Sian Eleri about the song, “I think I tried to write sad music with a tiny bit of hopefulness in it. Just not leave the listener too devastated afterwards. But this song is definitely a sad one. I wrote it about this kind of toxic cycle I was in with somebody and not really knowing how to get out of that. And I wrote it after the fact, and it was just a really big hindsight moment for me and how clear everything was. There's so much growth that happens between 19 and 23. It was definitely an emotional one, but I hope it has a tiny bit of hopefulness in the track.”

She said of the EP, “It's definitely kind of surreal, but I'm so excited to finally have everything be out in the world, and just feels like such a natural and honest project of the past couple years of my life. I think a Pinky Promise to myself, my partner, my friends, my family, just feels like. The gesture of a pinky promise is just so sweet and honest, and I just love titling it that, because felt really very fitting.”
