loveshy Premieres New Song “Between My Teeth” on BBC Radio 1
London-based alt-rock singer-songwriter James Hofbauer, aka loveshy premiered a new song “Between My Teeth” on BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Sian Eleri.
The song is featured on his sophomore EP “Aftertaste”, which was released on April 24, 2026.
It was written by James Hofbauer, Keith Varon, and Jake Bennett. Produced by James Hofbauer and Keith Varon.
He has already filmed a music video for the song, directed by Luke Annett, which is coming on May 1, 2026.
loveshy told Sian Eleri about the song, “It's kind of a darker one, honestly. Lyrics kind of portray the feeling of, kind of being thrown in the dirt by someone that you're you would do anything for. You literally, like, catch a bullet between your teeth this person. And they just would absolutely throw it at the side. So it's a little bit emo, it's a little bit dark, but it's kind of contrasted with, like, the really fast, high energy instrumentation, which I think it's really fun. I'm just so excited based on life.”- The EP comprises 4 tracks, produced by James New, Jack Wilson, James Hofbauer, and Keith Varon.
It is his first project since the 2025 debut EP “Dead2Me”.
loveshy said of the EP, “My new EP Aftertaste is now out in the world. I'm so excited to finally share this with you. I wrote this between LA and London, mid to late last year, and it touches on some of the darker times in my life. Feeling used, not knowing how to help yourself, and chasing toxicity. I spent a long time thinking about the world I wanted this to live in visually, and landed on what felt right: a version of myself broken and beaten, by my own doing.” -
He told Sian Eleri about the EP, “I guess, like, makes you take a look at yourself. When you write songs like that, you're like, 'What am I doing to myself?' It's cool. I guess it's therapeutic in a way. And it's all really nice.” - source : BBC Radio 1
