Maren Davidsen Releases New Song “Tennessee On My Mind”
Norwegian singer-songwriter Maren Davidsen will release her upcoming debut album “This Is Where I Leave You” in October 2026 via AWAL.
From the album, she released a new song “Tennessee On My Mind” on April 24, 2026.
Maren Davidsen wrote the song during a solo songwriting trip to Nashville last year.
The track captures a turning point in her life, shaped by distance, emotional exhaustion and the first real sense of leaving a painful chapter behind. It emerged at a moment when she felt both inspired and completely unsteady, caught between the excitement of somewhere new and the weight of everything she had brought with her.
It was written by Maren Lundevåg Davidsen, and Martin Vinje, who also produced the track.
The track features, Martin Vinje on piano and programming, Andreas Voie Juliebø on drums, Aleksander Sjølie on acoustic guitar, and Michael Chaplin on fiddle.- Maren Davidsen said of the song, “I remember arriving in Nashville feeling completely drained, physically and mentally, and suddenly very far from home. I felt lonely and lost, but also excited and inspired. Looking back, that trip became the beginning of letting go, not just of a relationship, but of that entire phase of my life. I wanted people back home to think I was okay. But I wasn't, not fully. I think this song came from finally being alone with that truth.”
She added, “Been living for this song since my writing trip to Nashville last year. I’m tapping into this whole new genre! A song about moving on and always, ALWAYS, making the best out of any situation.” -
