The Chainsmokers & Oaks Announce New Collaborative EP “Love Is Kind”, Share New Song “Already Know”

American DJ duo The Chainsmokers, consisting of Drew Taggart and Alex Pall, and Swedish singer-songwriter Winona Oak have announced their upcoming collaborative EP “Love Is Kind” will be released on May 8, 2026.
For The Chainsmokers, it is their first project since the 2025 EP “Breathe”.
The Chainsmokers and Winona Oak first collaborated in 2018 on the single “Hope”. They have now created the EP together for the first time.
The EP comprises 5 tracks, which they recorded in Norway, produced by The Chainsmokers, Axel Lindroth, Emerson Mancini, Håvard Sundland and Jordan Stilwell.
From the EP, they released a new song “Already Know” on April 24, 2026.
The song is the second single off of the EP, following “Echo” released earlier this month.
It was written by Mads Bjørsvik Songve, Andrew Taggart, Alex Pall, Axel Lindroth, Håvard Sundland, Winona Oak, Cody Garrett Nadeau, Fredrik Bertheussen Bruras, and Simon Strömstedt. Produced by The Chainsmokers and Axel Lindroth.- The Chainsmokers said of the EP, “A few months ago we made Echo, then we made another song, and another and another. I can’t remember the last time we had a creative flow like this. Tbh this followed a period of feeling really stuck in the studio. Maybe we had too many ideas about what 2026 could sound like for us. The year started with a 2016 trend popping off and it’s crazy to see Roses and Closer and Paris etc connect with a new generation. It almost feels like they are loved even more then when they came out. Thanks for that. But also that left us in a weird place creatively. It made us think a lot about the magic in that era and what was making people connect with it again. We are still working on the answer to that question and I think we are getting close. Making this EP helped a lot. Winona fell in love since we had last saw her that has fueled the story behind all these songs. We wanted to keep that story (and her mesmerizing voice) in the center of this project and build a world around it with the production. Our only criteria was to make sure it would be extremely fun to play in our set. It was therapeutic to work within those self inflicted parameters. The result has been beautiful. We love you Winona and we can’t wait for you all to hear these records!”
