Francis of Delirium Releases New Song “Requiem for a Dying Day”
Luxembourgish indie rock singer-songwriter Jana Bahrich's project Francis of Delirium released a new song “Requiem for a Dying Day” on April 22, 2026.
The song will appear on their upcoming sophomore album “Run, Run Pure Beauty”, which is set to be released on May 29, 2026.
The track is accompanied by a stop motion music video, which was directed by Jana Bahrich.
It was written and produced by Jana Bahrich.
Jana Bahrich said of the song, “'Requiem for a Dying Day' began after reading about Katy Perry going to space and then developed into this pre-emptive mourning and grief for our future. I wanted the video to be done in claymation because the form itself is a celebration of process and slowness. All the work that has been put into it is blatantly on display, every thumbprint and every minor adjustment. We are hurtling towards our future without much pause or forethought. I wanted this video to be an attempt at the opposite, so I chose the most painstaking medium I could think of.”
She added, “This music video is 3 minutes and 14 seconds long. I shot it at a frame rate of 8 frames per second. This means 1552 individual frames were shot to create this video.”- The new album comprises 11 tracks, written and produced by Jana Bahrich. It is their first alum in two years, following the 2024 debut album “Lighthouse”.
Jana Bahrich said of the album, “These are 11 songs of despair and hope, fear and love. I played a ton of french horn all over the album and some (badly played) violin. ‘Run, Run Pure Beauty’ can be read as a warning or a wish. A desire for the beautiful things in the world to run, hide and protect themselves or as a desire for the beautiful things to run, not in an attempt to hide but to be wild and free.” -
