The Living Orchestra Releases New Song “Paris Disagreement”

Vancouver-based symphonic funk rock band The Living Orchestra, consisting of Mike Bell (lead vocals/guitar), Elyse Jacobson (violin), John Kastelic (viola), Doug Gorkoff (cello), David Soutar-Spidel (bass), Samuel Cartwright (drums), Molly MacKinnon (violin), Kyle Axford (trumpet), Mike WT Allen (saxophone), Ellen Marple (trombone), Will Broverman (bass trombone), Rebecca Lam (vocals), Jodie Aguinaldo (vocals), Jared Suitor (vocals), released a new song “Paris Disagreement” in recognition of Earth Day and the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement on April 22, 2026.
The song is the second single off of their upcoming album “Last Generation”, which is set to be released on May 17, 2026.
Blending funk-inflected rhythms and driving rock intensity, the track takes direct aim at global political inaction, examining the widening gap between climate commitments and reality while exploring the causes and consequences of the climate crisis through a bold, genre-blurring lens.
It was written by Michael Edward Facundo Bell, and Elyse Ashley Caroline Jacobson. Produced by GGGarth Richardson and Mike Bell.- The band frontman Mike Bell said of the song, “This song was inspired when I found out that almost no nations have come close to achieving their Paris Agreement climate goals, especially the major industrialized ones. The song is about political virtue signaling, empty promises, and inaction that could eventually lead to our demise. In our rock opera, this song kicks off the album as one of the three main reasons for our climate crisis-government inaction worldwide.”
