unpeople Premieres New Song “clouds” on BBC Radio 1
British rock band unpeople, consisting of Jake Crawford (vocals/guitar), Luke Caley (guitar), Em Lodge (bass) and Richard Rayner (drums), is back.
The band premiered a new song “clouds” on BBC Radio 1's Rock Show with Daniel P Carter.
The song is their first new music in two years, following the 2024 single the garden and self-titled EP.
At its core, the track is a defiant rejection of external pressure, trend-chasing, and the hollow pursuit of validation, blending unforgettable hooks and addictive harmonies with crushing riffs and singalongs.
The track was written by Luke Caley, Jake Crawford, Em Lodge, and Richard Rayner. Produced by Luke Caley, Jake Crawford, Em Lodge, Richard Rayner, and Machine.
The accompanying music video was directed by Zak Pinchin.- The band frontman Jake Crawford said of the song, “clouds is essentially about not letting yourself be influenced by what other people think you should be doing to get ahead artistically, and trusting your own vision and process. I could feel myself being pulled in lots of directions when we started the band and I’m glad we stuck to our guns. I feel like this song is an excellent representation of us doing just that: 'not buying it' - i.e. quick fixes or hopping on trends - be it musically or the way we present ourselves as a unit.”
