Beck Returns With New Song “Ride Lonesome”

American singer-songwriter Beck returned with a new song “Ride Lonesome” on April 20, 2026.
Following the release of his 2019 album “Hyperspace”, he has released several collaborative and cover songs, but “Ride Lonesome” is his first original release since the 2023 single “Thinking About You”.
It was written and produced by Beck. The track features Jason Falkner on guitar, Roger Joseph Manning Jr. on keyboard, Justin Meldal-Johnsen on bass, and Joey Waronker on drums.
The accompanying music video was directed by Mikai Karl and Beck.
Beck told NPR about the song, “It was a bit of a lonely time. It was one of those times in your life when you're taking things in, where you've been and where you're going. You know, when you're going through difficult things, often you have to get through it yourself. You just have to move forward through whatever landscape of your life and circumstances you find yourself in. And I think it's sort of that dark comfort of pushing through the parts of life that are maybe not as comfortable or easy, and having some distant faith that it will pull you through to the other side.”- Beck is currently working on some projects. He said, “ I've probably made multiple albums' worth of music that probably no one will ever hear, but hopefully it leads to something. I've got lots of things cooking. I've been in the studio a lot on and off the last four years with my band. There's a group of musicians I came up with that were my touring band for a lot of my early records. And everybody's gone off to bigger and better things, but we still get together and we'll find a couple of days here and there and make some music. And yeah, I have a lot of different projects I want to do, so hopefully there's time to get to all of them.”
