Mae Stephens Returns With New Song “Delusional”
British singer-songwriter Mae Stephens returned with a new song “Delusional” on April 17, 2026.
The song is her first new music in a year, following the 2025 single “Blue”.
On the track, she worked with Belgian singer-songwriter OSKI with less than an hour of sleep.
Mae Stephens told followers, “I think I've written the delulu song of the summer”.
The track was written by Mae Stephen, and Luis Oscar Santos Figueroa. Produced by OSKI.
The accompanying music video was directed by The Walter Brothers.
Mae Stephens said of the song, “Delusional was written by myself and the incredible OSKI. Written on less than an hour of sleep we truly felt delusional writing this track. The song is about being so infatuated by someone that you would stoop to delusional levels to gain their affection. There are heavy themes in this track of obsession, denial and stalking which are very prominent in the second verse.”- She continued, “I had so much fun creating this track and definitely feel that it pulled me out of my comfort zone on the songwriting side. OSKI has an incredible ear for harmonies and played a massive hand in creating each layer of the incredible chorus and backing vocals.”
She added, I truly hope you love this song as much as I did writing it! (With the incredible OSKI) ‘Delusional’ helped me unlock and understand a part of myself that was untouched my entire life. The understanding that life is short and you have to stop caring what people think of you, I know that’s so easy to say but it is something that has plagued me for my entire life.
