Freya Ridings Releases New Song “Dancing In The Kitchen”

British singer-songwriter Freya Ridings released the fourth single called “Dancing In The Kitchen” from her upcoming third studio album “Mother Of Pearl” on April 17, 2026.
The album is set to be released on May 29, 2026 via BMG Rights Management.
She first performed the song during American pop rock band OneRepublic support concert in Australia back in February.
It was written by Freya Ridings, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, and Ewan Phillips. Produced by Ewan Phillips and Jenn Decilveo.
The track features Ewan J Phillips on acoustic guitar and ukulele, and Sam KS on drums.
The accompanying music video was directed by Nic Minns, who also directed her previous videos for “Wild Horse” and “I Have Always Loved You”.- Freya Ridings said of the song, “'Dancing In The Kitchen' is my rawest, most honest song to date. I’m thrilled that my fans resonated with the secret life I think we all share behind closed doors and eyes. The demo I shared started something and I’m in awe of the response. I truly can’t wait for this song to finally be out in the world.”
She added, “Feels so surreal to be saying this after all the amazing love you’ve shown this song in its early demo form. So excited for you to finally hear the full song!! I’ve been holding this one close to my heart for so long now...” -
The new album comprises 11 tracks, produced by Ewan J Phillips, Jennifer Decilveo, Sam de Jong and Toby Gad.
It is her first full-length release in three years, following the 2023 album “Blood Orange”.
Freya Ridings said of the album, “My first album had a colour palette of red and black, for fire and pain. The second album was orange and green - earthy and organic. But this new music evokes water, the big blue sea, with all the depth and ancient power of an ocean: it's grief and it's ancestry, the known and the unknown. There's a lot of rebellion and female rage that I wasn't able to express before. I'm rebuilding myself to who I actually know I am instead of what people tried to force me to be.”
