SOFIA ISELLA Premieres New Song “The Chicken is Naked and Afraid” on BBC Radio 1
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter SOFIA ISELLA will release her new EP “Something is a shell .” this Friday (April 17th).
From the EP, she premiered a new song “The Chicken is Naked and Afraid” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Sian Eleri.
The song is the fourth and final pre-release single, following “Numbers 31:17-18”, “Out in the Garden”, and Above the Neck”.
It was written by Sofia Isella Miranda and Benjamin McIldowie. Produced by SOFIA ISELLA and Mr Hudson.
SOFIA ISELLA told Sian Eleri about the song, “The feeling of carrying around 210 pound of muscle man. Just chucking a man over your shoulder, carrying him around, plopping him down. They try to run away and just get him walk over there and plop him over your shoulder. It's a great time. I really like animal sounds because it adds this very unrehearsed quality to it. And I wake up one morning and I think to myself, I really would love to hear a chicken.”- The new EP comprises 6 tracks, produced by SOFIA ISELLA and Mr Hudson.
It is her first project since the 2025 EP “I'm camera .”
Each of the songs on this project relate to a shell in some capacity. But one of them is about the shell of God. One of them is about the shell of a body. One of them is shell of a relationship. They're all shell of a man. They're all connected somehow.” -
She added, “'The Chicken is Naked and Afraid' is obviously fun one. I'm also excited for 'Evergreen Soldier'. It's something that I haven't done that type of song before. It's very gentle and kind, which is something I haven't really been very often in my music. It's sweet. Feels like my 15 year old self wrote it.” - source : BBC Radio 1
