Cassius Wolf & Das Abs Releases New Song “The Sound Of The Guns”
Liverpool-based post-punk band Cassius Wolf & Das Abs, consisting of Cassius Wolf and Don Watson, will their debut album “An Afternoon in Bedlam” on May 29, 2026.
From the album, the band released a new song “The Sound Of The Guns” on April 10, 2026.
The song is the second single off of the album, following “I Can't Reply” released last month.
While “I Can’t Reply” captures emotional breakdown within relationships, “The Sound of the Guns” expands outward, confronting wider social realities.
Originally written in the early 1980s and now reworked from the band’s archive recordings, the song focuses on the human cost of conflict and the lives caught in its wake.
It was co-written by Cassius Wolf and Liverpool musician John McGlone of Western Promise.
Cassius Wolf said of the song, “It’s a powerful anti-war statement that asks you to consider the plight of innocent civilians caught up in conflicts everywhere.”- The album explores both intimate and societal tensions shaped by the late post-punk era, built around a foundation of restored cassette recordings and reimagined with contemporary tools.
Recording largely from a home studio environment, Cassius Wolf & Das Abs maintain full creative control across songwriting, production, and visual presentation, embracing new technology as a way of preserving and reinterpreting their original artistic vision. - source : Apple Music
