Lecx Stacy Announces New Album “The Folkhouse”, Shares New Song “Hurry, Grin”
Los Angeles-based Filipino-American singer-songwriter Lecx Stacy has announced his upcoming sophomore album “The Folkhouse” will be released on May 8, 2026.
It is his first album in five years, following the 2021 debut album “Bundok”.
From the album, he released a new song “Hurry, Grin” on April 3, 2026.
The song is the fourth and final pre-release single, following “Winter, A Wilted Flower”, “With You, I'd be Closer to God”, and “Safe In Your Hands, I Clasp”.
Built around oscillating synths, ethereal vocals, and dense, textural production, the track feels dark, ominous, and all-encompassing.
It was written and produced by Lecx Stacy.
Lecx Stacy said of the song, “‘Hurry, Grin’ steps into a distorted reality shaped by the mental space I was in while writing the album. At the time, I was working in a psych home and witnessing firsthand how memory can take hold of someone, how a single traumatic moment can echo for decades and quietly shape behavior. It made me reflect on the patterns I carry myself or what’s been formed through experience, and what might’ve been inherited without me even realizing it.”- The new album comprises 9 tracks, which were written and produced by Lecx Stacy.
While “Bundok” was rooted in anger and explored his ethnic identity, “The Folkhouse” leans toward acceptance, letting go, and finding a kind of gratitude for the experiences that shaped him.
Lecx Stacy said of the album, “This album lives in the blur between distorted memory and my own life. Stories my father told me about foggy, smoke-filled bar rooms in a misty Philippine mountain and the culture around them began echoing into my own experiences decades later. The album sits in that strange overlap where inherited memory and lived reality start to feel like the same story.” -
He added, “The Folkhouse, like everything I make, is made with love and with gratitude to my mom and dad for everything they’ve done to give me a better life than they had, allowing me the privilege of even sitting in a bedroom writing these songs.”
