Rachel Lorin Releases New Song “Payoff”
New York-based singer-songwriter Rachel Lorin released a brand new song “Payoff” on April 3, 2026.
The song is the follow-up to “Afraid of the Dark”, which was released back in February.
It is an upbeat track about healing in the arms of someone patient enough to see your scars and stay anyway.
It was written by Rachel Lorin, Emily Katherine McDonald, and Erik Ron, who also produced the track.
The accompanying lyric video was directed by Megan Bowling.
Rachel Lorin said of the song, “'Payoff' is about what happens when love finally feels safe. It’s the moment after the chaos and the moment you realize why it could never have worked with anyone before. When someone sees your scars and they stay and choose you anyway, that's love. The best things are those that don’t come easy in life. Not every love is instant; the best ones are earned and developed.”- She added, “Healing takes time but so does something real... The love you want only arrives when you're ready, not when you’re lonely. I had to learn the difference between attention and intention. You will never find yourself begging for anything when the kind of love that's meant for you finds you.”
