Saint Agnes Releases New Song “The Ghost”
London-based rock band Saint Agnes, consisting of Kitty A. Austen (vocals/guitar), Jon James Tufnell (guitar), Andy Head (drums) and Maxine Cahill (bass/tour member), will release their upcoming third studio album “Your God Fearing Days Are About To Begin” on May 29, 2026 via Spinefarm Records.
It is their first album in three years, following the 2023 album “BLOODSUCKERS”.
Initially, the album was supposed to be released on October 31, 2025, but pushed back to May 2026.
From the album, the band released the fourth single called “The Ghost” on March 25, 2026, following “Good Boy”, “Song For Mia”, and “The Father, The Son and The Holy Beast”.
The music video for the song, directed by Saint Agnes, was dropped on March 30, 2026.
The track was written by Jon James Tufnell and Kitty A. Austen. Produced by Pete Hutchings and Saint Agnes.- The band lead singer Kitty A. Austen said of the song, “I wrote this song about often feeling like I disappear, I become invisible in certain settings, certain situations. Words fail me and I merge into the background. I envisioned dancing surrounded by people but feeling completely on my own. It’s the soundtrack to a hot, sweaty night in a vampire nightclub, the blood rave just before dawn. Euphoria washes over the bodies as the dark driving beats pulsate through the club. We’ve turned my sadness into a banger and now I can dance to it.”
She added, “This song started with the chorus, it’s such a hook, Jon played it on piano and we were immediately like yeah, we need to write a song with this. It’s a perfect little song, I think you’re going to love it actually.” -
The new album comprises 10 tracks, produced by Saint Agnes and Pete Hutchings.
Kitty A. Austen said of the album, “Trauma, grief, it changes you irrevocably, it rips the fabric of your world apart and you have to try and put it all back together. Instinctively, I felt I had to reach outwards and try to grow from the experience, because I could feel that it would be very easy to harden and turn inward. I was so up for trying new things, pushing myself lyrically, musically, figuring out new ways to express myself and embrace my boldest ideas. It was a euphoric experience.”
