New German Cinema Releases New Song “Eyes”
British singer-songwriter New German Cinema, Jessica Weiss' solo project from Brighton-based indie pop band Fear of Men, will release her debut solo album “Pain Will Polish Me” this Friday (March 27th) via felte.
From the album, she released the third and final pre-release single called “Eyes” on March 24, 2026.
The song is accompanied by a music video, which was filmed by Jess Weiss and Jag Bahia during a Japanese tour last year.
Jessica Weiss said of the video, “It is such a visually rich and very precise culture, that can feel enticing but also slightly unknowable to outsiders. That tension felt very apt for the energy of the song. We filmed fragments as we moved through cities and train stations, neon streets and quiet corners, trying to capture that feeling of being both immersed in a place and slightly outside it, with the recurring motif of landline phones suggesting emotional relationships beyond the frame. The video became a kind of travel diary, but also a visual echo of the song's inner landscape.”- The debut album comprises 12 tracks, featuring a guest appearance from Carson Cox. Jessica Weiss recorded it with producer Alex DeGroot over five years between London and Los Angeles.
Jessica Weiss said of the album, “This album is somehow both exciting and painful to share. I hope some people enjoy it.
