Orlando-based soul-rock band The Sh-Booms dropped a new music video for “This is a Test” directed by John Taylor on March 25, 2026.
The song is the title track of their new 4-track EP “This is a Test”, which was released on March 10, 2026.
It was written by Brenda Michelle Mason Radney, Alan Armitage, Antonio Aguirre, Kevin Connolly, Earl Hoback, MIchael Vincent Ortiz, William Roman Duran, Paul Durand, Waylon Andrew Thornton, Jeffrey Adam Richey, and Alfred Joseph Ruiz.
The video expands the song's cosmic narrative into a vivid, otherworldly visual experience, blending performance with a surreal journey through time, space, and survival, while drawing inspiration from classic New Wave-era visuals and John Taylor's upbringing during the final chapter of the space program in Cocoa Beach, Florida.- Director John Taylor said of the video, “The concept kind of dances through themes of time and space travel, unexpected journeys that lead to discovery, strength in survival and love, all woven through a dynamic performance.
