Tom A. Smith Releases New Song “SFX”
Sunderland-based indie-rock singer-songwriter Tom A. Smith released a new song “SFX” on March 20, 2026.
The song is his first new music since the EP “Say What You Want”, which was released last December.
the track explores themes of self-doubt and body image.
It was written and produced by Tom A. Smith, who also played synthesizer, drums, bass, and guitar on the track.
He first performed the song at SXSW in mid-March in Austin, Texas.
Tom A. Smith said of the song, “I wanted this song to have a confidence that I ordinarily lack when it comes to body image. I know I'm definitely not alone when finding it hard to ignore your own insecurities. SFX is three minutes where I can dance and feel a bit better about myself, so hopefully anyone listening can do the same.”- He will appear on BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend 2026, which will be held at Herrington Country Park in his home city of Sunderland from May 22 to May 24, 2026.
