Foo Fighters Releases New Song “Caught In The Echo”
American rock band Foo Fighters, consisting of Dave Grohl (vocals/guitar), Pat Smear (guitar), Chris Shiflett (guitar), Nate Mendel (bass), Rami Jaffee (keyboards) and Ilan Rubin (drums), released a new song “Caught In The Echo” on March 30, 2026.
The song is the third single off of their upcoming twelfth studio album “Your Favorite Toy”, following “Asking For A Friend” and “Your Favorite Toy”.
The album is set to be released on April 24, 2026 via Roswell Records and RCA Records.
“Caught In The Echo” foreshadows the new album's rough hewn energy with arguably the band's most explosive opener.
It was written and produced by Foo Fighters, with production by Oliver Roman.
The new album comprises 10 tracks, recorded with co-producer Oliver Roman at Dave Grohl's home studio.
It is the first release since new drummer Ilan Rubin joined the lineup. Also, the band frontman Dave Grohl's daughter Harper recorded the third track “Window” with the band for the first time.- The band guitarist Chris Shiflett told The Guardian about the album, “The last few records are a lot more produced, a lot more nipped and tucked. And this one was not at all. It was great - we used whatever amps were on hand, whatever pedals, and didn’t have option paralysis.”
Bassist Nate Mendel added, “And honestly the last handful of years have been a difficult period for us, getting punched in the face a couple of times. So there’s this rough wobbly defiance to the new album, that, to me, sounds like our band.”
Dave Grohl said, “An eight-minute Led Zeppelin opus. The aha! moment came when I was up one night listening to all 30 or 40 of the ideas. I hit this spot in the sequence that was eight or nine of the up-tempo bangers all in a row. I thought, OK, this is the record.” -
