Phoebe Ryan Returns With New Song “Something to Hope For”
American singer-songwriter Phoebe Ryan returned with a new song “Something to Hope For” on March 13, 2026.
To date, Phoebe Ryan has written songs for many artists, including Britney Spears, The Chainsmokers, Tove Lo, and Alan Walker.
Most recently, she contributed to Alan Walker's “A World That I Don't Know”, released last month.
But she hasn't released her own music since the 2020 debut album “How It Used to Feel”.
The new song is her first music in six years.
It was written by Phoebe Ryan and Johan Lindbrandt, who also prodced the track.
Phoebe Ryan said of the song, “If you had told me a year ago I would be releasing a new song into the world, I wouldn't have believed you. Not at all. That chapter had really closed for me. I spent two years figuring out who I was outside of my career as an artist, figuring out what I wanted and needed out of life, what the next step was for me and my never-ending search for happiness. I felt so comfortable writing for other artists. I didn't have anything much to give other than ideas tied to another artists's vision. Don't get me wrong, I love writing for others, and I didn't feel like anything was missing in my life at all! That's how certain I was that releasing my own music was in the past. Took a long time for me to fully make peace with that.”- She continued, “On May 26th of last year, I was in the studio with Johan and I don't know what came over me, but I asked him if he felt like experimenting with a sound, maybe for me??? He's one of the best producers I've ever met, so I figured he might say our time would be better spent writing for a bigger, more active artist... but he said hell yeah. We wrote Something to Hope For that day, and it sounds dramatic, but it changed me. I felt a spark I hadn't felt in sooooo long. All I wanted to do was write about my experience of happily falling in love. I'd never really spoke on that subject before unless it was a 'what-l-thought- was-love' song tied in with a darkness and toxicity. Something to Hope For has a hint of darkness actually, but mostly because I wanted to really express how transformative true love was for me.”
