Freya Ridings Announces New Album “Mother Of Pearl”, Shares New Song “I Have Always Loved You”

British singer-songwriter Freya Ridings has announced her upcoming third studio album “Mother Of Pearl” will be released on May 29, 2026 via BMG Rights Management.
It marks her first album in three years, following the 2023 album “Blood Orange”.
The album comprises 11 tracks, produced by Toby Gad, Sam de Jong, and Jennifer Decilveo.
Freya Ridings said of the album, “My first album had a colour palette of red and black, for fire and pain. The second album was orange and green - earthy and organic. But this new music evokes water, the big blue sea, with all the depth and ancient power of an ocean: it's grief and it's ancestry, the known and the unknown. There's a lot of rebellion and female rage that I wasn't able to express before. I'm rebuilding myself to who I actually know I am instead of what people tried to force me to be.”
She added, “It’s been 4 years of writing and recording and it’s the most proud of an album I’ve ever been in my life. Created through such joy but also emotional rawness and vulnerability which truly helped me find the strength in songs again once more. She’s grief, love, family, pain, true love stories and more all from personal experiences in my life over the past 4 years.”- From the album, she released a new song “I Have Always Loved You” on March 13, 2026.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Wild Horse” and “Wicker Woman”.
She first performed the son on ITV James Martin's Saturday Morning earlier February.
It was written by Freya Ridings, Lauren Conklin, and Toby Gad, who also produced the track.
The accompanying music video was directed by Nic Minns, who also created the previous video for “Wild Horse”.
Freya Ridings said of the song, “This song especially holds a secret story so close to my heart. It feels like the beginning of a new chapter. It’s become incredibly special to me, and seeing all the love you’ve already shown it makes my heart so full. I am so grateful for that and to finally share it to you.” - source : Apple Music
