Yebba Releases New Album “Jean”

American singer-songwriter Yebba released her sophomore album “Jean” on March 6, 20265 via RCA Records.
It is her first album in five years, following the 2021 debut album “Dawn”.
The album title is named in honor of her late grandmother, Jean, a steady and formative presence in her life.
The album comprises 14 tracks recorded with producer John Rooney at her home and Electric Lady Studios in New York, in environments that felt personal and safe.
The project captures a period marked by healing, uncertainty, and the quiet freedom that comes with letting go of expectation. She describes it as her “adulting years”, saying, “All of it is worship.”
The album features James Francies (keyboards), Malachi Mabson (piano), Michael Smith (piano), Charles Myers (guitar),Burniss Earl Travis II (bass), John Rooney (drums/Keyboards/guitar), Justin Tyson (drums), Mike Mitchell (drums), Nate Smith (drums), Sally Gorski (drums), Sally Gorski (strings), and Elena Pinderhughes (flute).- Yebba said of the first single “Yellow Eyes”, “I wanted to experience singing in a different way than I had before. I wrote this for the people who raised me, my grandmother, for the moments of sweetness I only get to keep in memory form. I miss having my people around, and growing up is in fact hard. I try to get out of the way as much as possible and make this music as well as I can, hoping at best, maybe one person won't feel so alone.”

She said of the album, “It took 5 years to complete, it would’ve never been right if these people didn’t help bring the visions to life.
