Metric Releases New Song “Time Is A Bomb”
Canadian indie rock band Metric, consisting of Emily Haines (vocals/keyboards), James Shaw (guitar), Joules Scott-Key (drums) and Joshua Winstead (bass), released the second single called “Time Is A Bomb” from their upcoming tenth studio album “Romanticize The Dive” on March 4, 2026, following “Victim Of Luck”.
The album is set to be released on April 24, 2026 via Thirty Tigers.
The track was written by Gavin Brown, James Shaw, and Emily Haines. Produced by Gavin Brown, Jimmy Shaw, Liam O'Neil, and John O'Mahony.
The band lead singer Emily Haines said of the song, “Say what you want about the wellness boom, I think it's a natural response to the unrelenting awareness we have of our mortality. The powerless feeling of wanting to hold on and make time stop while simultaneously doing everything you can to max out your fleeting vitality - this song expresses that inner tension.”- She continued, “I love my life and I'm truly amazed that I made it to my happily ever after, but I don't want to spend the time I have left obsessing over personal consequences, being boring and hiding from fun. I don't expect to be jumping off speaker stacks or crowd surfing like I used to, but it's still too soon to say never.”
