  • Maddy Little Releases New Song “Quicksand”

  • Toronto-based alt-pop singer-songwriter Maddy Little released a new song “Quicksand” on February 27, 2026.

The song is the follow-up to “All My Fault”, which was released back in January.
Both songs will appear on her upcoming debut EP, due out is this spring.
Rather than capturing the explosion of a breakup, the song sits inside the moment before it happens when distance grows, communication fades, and blame turns inward.
The track was written by Maddy Little and produced by Konrad Commisso, Matt Snell, and Christian Turner.

Maddy Little said of the song, I wrote this song about watching someone I loved slowly pull away and constantly blaming myself for it. 'Quicksand' is so hard to escape once you're in it. I kept having these thoughts about whether I was enough for this person. It felt like an emotional quicksand. It's not describing a breakup. It's about someone pulling away in real time.”
  • The debut EP explores themes of vulnerability, growth, and emotional honesty.
The new song “Quicksand” marked an important turning point creatively. It was one of the first moments where Maddy Little and her producers found a shared understanding of the project's emotional and sonic direction, helping shape the cohesion of the songs that followed.

She said,“ The songs we recorded after this became so consistent and cohesive.”
