JP Cooper Releases New Album “Just A Few Folk”

British singer-songwriter JP Cooper released his third studio album “Just A Few Folk” on February 13, 2026 via Island Records.
Initially, the album was supposed to be released on October 31, 2025, but it was pushed back to February 13, 2026.
The album comprises 14 tracks, featuring a guest appearance from British singer-songwriter Gabrielle, produced by Cam Blackwood.
It is his first album in four years, following the 2022 album “She”.
JP Cooper said of the album title, “So the name of the album 'Just A Few Folk'. It came from the song on the album, which I wrote at home. Really simple, few chords. The second verse is the same as the first. It was written more like a praise break. Since I did the gospel moments as part of the album 'She'. I wanted to incorporate a bit of that on this record. The idea behind the title of it is basically not needing to satisfy everybody. I think for a long time in my life, I've been a people pleaser. I guess in some ways, feeling like finding myself in the commercial world musically. It played into that, and I kind of struggled with figuring out, actually what is the most important part of me that I'm trying to get across to the world, or what is the message? It's been my few folk, my close circle, that has made this record. And I hope it creates a home for maybe those few folk that don't need me to be everything. Or maybe if they've not even found my music yet. Hopefully, even if it's just a few folk, I would much rather it go deeper than far and wide.”- He added, “It's taken longer than I would have liked to get this one out, but, the process has been incredible, and the idea behind this album is a hope that it will find the right people. It doesn't need to go far and wide, but I hope for those of you who it does reach, it reaches you in a way this is much deeper than anything I've ever put out before.”

JP Cooper explained some tracks for the album.
“Waiting On A Blue Sky”
“I've touched on a lot of influences here that in the past made me nervous for fear that they wouldn’t have the commercial impact I might have hoped for. However, as this song says, ‘Don’t pay no mind to your fear, it’s a lie’ I’m speaking to my own confidence as the start of the whole project. I hope the song speaks to you too.”
“Diamonds And Gold”
“'Diamonds And Gold' is a song that I wrote by myself at home, and it was a song, I guess, for my wife. It's about all of the places that you search for what you might call treasures in your life. And realizing the most important ones are the ones that you already have at home. It was a late addition to the first version of the album. I think I played it to the guys, like, when we got into the studio to record everything else. We jumped on it, and it quickly became one of my favorite songs of the record. It's so nice to take something from, you know, such a little sketch in my house on the piano to getting in with the band and watching it grow and evolve like that. It was a beautiful thing. I still feel like it's got an amazing future ahead of it, that song. It's captured an energy for sure.”
“Yes”
“This one’s extra special , the footage comes from recording the track with the Durban Choir in South Africa. What an incredible experience and such amazing people to share it with.”
“Summer Of Love”
Summer of Love” was a late addition to the album.. I was in the States and had written the chords and a part of the melody in my hotel room. It instantly felt so soothing. I played the progression over and over for hours.. it made me think of summer, picnic blankets and golden skies. The next day I got together with Mr Hudson and Johnny Simpson and brain stormed a bunch of images that put me in that place. The song came together really easily after that.
“Sad Song”
“Sad Song is essentially a breakup song. It's inspired by that space between hurt and acceptance. Between a bitter taste and good wishes. But at the heart of the song, there's still love. There's still hope that something good comes out of it all. It looks at the situation from a place of. If the story has to end, then at least let it leave us better. I hope it resonates with you.”
“Sad Song (Duet)” featuring Gabrielle
“Once the song was written, I kept feeling like it needed another voice - a touch of feminine energy to balance the conversation. I've always wanted to work with the artists I grew up listening to, the voices that shaped the soundtrack of my early years. Gabrielle's 'Dreams' was always on the radio when I was younger, and her voice has this understated beauty that can break your heart and comfort you at the same time. There's so much nostalgia in her tone, and you know I love me some of that.
Reaching out to her felt like a shot in the dark, but she said yes - it's a real honour to have her join me on this song. A full-circle moment for me. Huge thanks to Gabrielle for elevating this track in such a soulful, effortless way.” - source : Apple Music
