Holly Lawless Returns With New Song “Behind That Closed Door”
Liverpool-based singer-songwriter Holly Lawless returned with a new song “Behind That Closed Door” on February 20, 2026.
The song is her first release since “Daisy Mae”, which was released last May.
The track was inspired by American author Mitch Albom's book “Tuesdays with Morrie”.
It is an acoustic indie folk song about living with the grief of losing someone you love and contemplating what lies beyond our lives and what happens to those who are no longer here.
The track was written and produced by Holly Lawless. The accompanying music video was directed by Ryan Barr.
It is also her first-ever completely independent song, written, arranged, recorded, and produced at home.- Holly Lawless said of the song, “I wrote this song just after finishing the book Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom, which absolutely broke me. With tears streaming down my face I picked up the guitar and started writing. It's a simple song about living and dealing with the grief of losing someone you love, but also contemplating what is beyond our lives and what happens to those no longer living it. And it's also a special one for me as it's the first song I've ever made completely independently, all written, arranged, recorded and produced by me in my bedroom. I hope it brings people comfort or just lets them sit in their feelings for a while.”
